FRANKFURT, Germany – Kidney dialysis products maker Fresenius Medical Care AG said Tuesday its third quarter net profit increased 14 percent on better sales and "above market growth" for some of its products. The Bad Homburg-based company said third quarter net profit came in at $206.3 million, from $181 million in the year ago quarter. Sales rose 12 percent to $2.7 billion from $2.4 billion in the third quarter of 2007. The company confirmed its outlook and said it expects to achieve revenue of more than $10.4 billion and net profit between $805 million and $825 million for 2008. For 2010, the company continues to expect revenue of more than $11.5 billion and earnings after tax to grow at a low- to mid-teen percentage rate each year. "We are very pleased to report a strong third quarter and first nine months of 2008," said Ben Lipps, Chief Executive Officer of Fresenius Medical Care, in a statement.
