BONN, Germany – Logistics and shipping company Deutsche Post AG is set to announce thousands of job cuts at its DHL shipping unit in the United States, part of a sweeping program to save money, a person familiar with the announcement says.
The Bonn-based company, which provides postal service for Germany, and express shipping through DHL, is set to announce the cuts that are expected to total between 12,000 to 13,000 in an announcement planned for Monday.
The person spoke to The Associated Press Sunday on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk about the announcement to the media.
